Lighten Up Your Skin and Look 10 years Younger with Vitamin C

We all want and love our skin looking its best. We also love looking young and refreshing. Vitamin C helps to attain a younger, fresher and lighter skin. It also helps your body fight diseases.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) is a water-soluble nutrient found naturally in some foods. Here are a few facts about Vitamin C:

  • ·         It is an antioxidant and as such helps the body fight free radicals and their effects.
  • ·         It is important for collagen production. Collagen helps wounds heal and skin repair.
  • ·         It boosts the immune system.

Vitamin C can do the following to your skin:
  • ·         Brighten.
  • ·         Tighten.
  • ·         Reduce Wrinkles.
  • ·         Repair Sun Damage.
  • ·         Reduce Dark Spots
  • ·         Fight Spots, Pimples and Acne
  • ·         Fight Hyperpigmentation.
  • ·         Stop Aging

Fruits and vegetables are the best sources of Vitamin C. Other sources of Vitamin C are fortified foods, multivitamins and dietary supplements. Vitamin C can be taken orally, intravenously and topically.

For skin repair and lightening, it is best to use Vitamin C topically and orally. Applying Vitamin C solution  or serum on your skin delivers a concentrated dose rapidly and deeply, which may be hard to get from oral use alone. Below is a cheap and easy recipe for Vitamin C Serum and Solution.

Vitamin C Serum Recipe
·         1 teaspoon natural Vitamin C powder
·         2 teaspoons water
·         4 tablespoons natural vegetable glycerin or rosewater
·         A small dark coloured glass bottle

Preparing Vitamin C Serum
1.       Dissolve the Vitamin C powder in the water
2.       Mix in the glycerin or rosewater
3.       Put in the bottle and store in a dark place.

Making Vitamin C Solution
1.       Dissolve the Vitamin C powder with 4 tablespoons of water
2.       Shake well
3.       Store in the dark coloured bottle and keep in a dark place.
4.       Use by applying on your face, arms, neck, hands or body with cotton balls or pads.

Using with Your Lotion
·         4 tablespoons Vitamin C solution.
·         4 tablespoons lotion.

Make small amounts of Vitamin C mixtures and use within 1-2 weeks because Vitamin C oxidizes rapidly. Use with a sunscreen to get maximum and quicker effects. It is important to store Vitamin C mixtures in a dark coloured bottle and dark places to avoid its oxidation.

The juices of fruits and vegetables that are high in Vitamin C content also have the same effects. Go ahead; drink, eat and apply Vitamin C to become better health wise, fresher and younger.
