Yaji or suya spice is a blend of defatted ground nut powder
and spices which is used to spice meat, fish,sweet potatoes, rice, yam, salad, stew, plantain and all kinds of food. It is a popular spice blend made and used in Northern Nigeria. The
ingredients commonly used for preparing yaji are:
- Kwuli kwuli or ground nut powder.
- Ginger powder.
- Garlic Powder.
- Cayenne pepper powder.
- African black pepper.
- Cloves.
- Salt and other seasoning cubes.
