Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is commonly regarded as a weed because it is
pervasive and invasive. Dandelion has nutritional and medicinal values too.
Dandelion is known in Nigeria by the Yoruba people as efo yanrin and is used to
prepare vegetable soup. It has a slightly bitter taste.

beta-carotene which the body converts to vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D and

anti-inflammatory properties which help to prevent or heal chronic diseases.

DeleteThanks for your feedback. Mafowokanomomi is botanically called Acathospermum hispidum and bristly starburr in English. It is also a medicinal plant that can be found in Nigeria. Dandelion does not have spikes but bristly starburr has hence the name bristly.
